| LG Electronics introduced the IrisAccess
2200, the optical unit for the world's
first commercially deployed iris recognition
system in 1999. Focusing on increased
speed, convenience, and internal security,
LG undertook development of a comprehensive
next-generation platform and introduced
the LG IrisAccess 3000 in Q4 2001.
While LG has licensed iris technology
from Iridian Technologies of Moorestown
N.J., LG's interest is in building
products and systems that enable our
partners and customers to develop
and deploy the solutions they require
or desire. In Q4 2000, Iridian announced
they would no longer manufacture iris
recognition hardware but would focus
solely on core technology issues and
LG developed software for the LG IrisAccess
3000 system.
LG's license agreement with Iridian
Technologies is, of necessity, broad
and includes rights to develop and
sell both hardware and software to
enable our platforms in the Access
Control environment, or to facilitate
integration and application development
by customers wanting to use our software
architecture.
If IrisAccess 2200 is part of your
security infrastructure and you would
like to expand or upgrade to the entirely
LG-engineered platform, we invite
you to contact our Sales organization
at sales@lgiris.com
to learn about upgrade options as
well as other starter programs. |
